Tirta Empul Temple, located in Tampaksiring, Bali, is one of the island's most revered Hindu temples and a significant spiritual destination. Dating back to 962 AD during the Warmadewa dynasty, the temple is dedicated to Vishnu, the god of water, and is celebrated for its sacred spring, which has drawn worshippers for centuries seeking spiritual cleansing and renewal.

The name “Tirta Empul” translates to “holy water spring,” perfectly reflecting the temple’s essence and cultural significance. The holy spring continuously provides crystal-clear water to the temple’s intricately designed purification pools and fountains. This water is believed to hold potent healing properties, making it central to purification rituals like the Melukat Ceremony, where participants immerse themselves in a spiritual journey to cleanse their body, mind, and soul.

Tirta Empul Temple, one of Bali’s most iconic spiritual sites, welcomes visitors to explore its serene atmosphere and cultural heritage. As of January 1st, 2025, the entrance fees have been updated to IDR 75,000 for adults, IDR 50,000 for children aged 5 to 12, and free entry for those under 5 years old. These fees are essential for maintaining the temple's beauty, ensuring its preservation, and supporting ongoing renovations. Visitors can access the temple daily from 8 AM to 6 PM, with tickets available for purchase at the entrance.

However, the standard ticket is for general entry only and does not allow participation in the Melukat Ceremony or access to the holy spring pools. Instead, it offers a chance to wander through the temple's courtyards, admire its intricate architecture, and absorb the peaceful energy of the site.
